Helpmeets

  • Date: October 31, 2004
  • Teacher: Pastoral Staff
  • Summary:

How do we go to the next step? Rejected doesn't make you a reject. Words are powerful. We are to have a spouse because it's not good to be alone. No man has ever been ready to be married. Scripture doesn't say you have to have a house and car paid for. Men are lacking something. The woman was made to complete the man. The perfect marriage is based on two individuals seeing who can be the least selfish. Some of the best marriages are two people growing up together. To strengthen each other for the coming of the Lord to build the kingdom. Godly character - Godly seed. Stop lying to yourself about your list. Who can make me better for the kingdom of God? All of your issues are non-issues biblically. Be wherever the person you're interested in is. There is no possession until there is an engagement. Do you really want God's will for your sister? Your emotions are not yours to give away. Don't get emotionally involved - get spiritually involved. Love is a choice, a consequence. It's not chemistry; it's not the fantasy. Don't marry outside of who you are.

Panel Discussion

  • Date: January 8, 2003 to November 26, 2003
  • Teacher: Pastoral Staff
  • Summary:

Defecting. Don't let anyone interpret the Bible for you. Going to Church doesn't mean you're right with God. Having proper doctrine doesn't mean you're right with God. What are we doing to increase our level of obedience? To obey is better than sacrifice. An overwhelming percentage of people who have left have been over dealing with the sin in their children. Usually it's the sin in their lives contributing. It starts with the children, but every home was controlled by the wife. Don't value the family above the glory of God. We're contending with the spirit of your greatest enemy being those in your family. There is no greater delusion than self-delusion. Willful sin is the willful remaining in sin. The cause of sin is always pride. Submit to those in authority over you even if you don't see it. Those offended at the cost of the cross are those who will be shaken out. You can't be a Christian YOUR way there's only one way. A treasure becomes an idol when it replaces the Lord. Where are you in the prioritizing of your treasure? The professed church today has less morals than the unsaved moral people of the 50's.

Pastoral Panel and Testimonies

  • Date: November 9, 2003
  • Teacher: Pastoral Staff
  • Summary:

Pastor Scott and the other pastors held a second panel discussion about more highlights from this deception teaching. There's no greater safety than having a heart that's panting after Jesus. See what's ugly in us, but then do something about changing. Several people from the congregation shared testimonies of how these teachings have impacted their lives.

Africa Report

  • Date: August 20, 2003
  • Teacher: Pastoral Staff
  • Summary:

The Nairobi Pastor's Conference went really well, ministering to 115 pastors. The comment was made in regards to the missions team that preceded them: "You've heard our doctrine; now you've seen our fruit." The Omojo and Kwangenga churches are growing in character. Pastor Scott shared about his meeting with Joe Kiyo, the one deemed the most spiritual man in Kenya amongst most evangelicals. The Tanzanian Pastor's Conference hosted 9,000 pastors from 11 different nations. There was good response from the people, but the leadership cut the meeting short after two days, not wanting to hear the Word of God in application anymore.

Panel Discussion: The Divine Rest

  • Date: April 6, 2003
  • Teacher: Pastoral Staff
  • Summary:

How to handle illness: Go to the doctor for natural intervention so you can serve God. It's not a merit system; God loves us the same all the time. We should be experiencing more of the supernatural - not less. What direction are we going in our trust? Rest is not doing nothing. Rest is ceasing from you own labors and doing God's work. There's no place of laziness.

Panel Discussion

  • Date: March 31, 2002 to December 25, 2002
  • Teacher: Pastoral Staff
  • Summary:

You cannot categorize lawfulness. It's only lawful if its being led by the Spirit. Self-sufficiency magnifies His love for us. Father wants us to receive His love and show it to others. God is faithful to pursue us into the pigpen. God cannot do whatever He wants to - He does what He is. True justice always looks to apply mercy whenever it can. You can't apply mercy when you're in the flesh. What is lawful this week may not be lawful next week - it depends on where you are. Disputable Matters: How little do I need - not how much can I get away with. You know you're in trouble when you're ready to justify your liberty. It's not a liberty if you're ready to defend it or if you're offended when someone questions it. All things are lawful as long as they are not robbing the Spirit man. You know your kids are walking in the Spirit by how they respond to authority.
