Delivered from the Flesh

  • Date: November 14, 2016
  • Verse: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
  • Summary:

When we're talking about the works of the spirit, many of our minds are going towards deliverance from the financial situation we're in or the sickness that's in our bodies. But I want us to realize that we are talking about these things to be delivered from the flesh and to be able to take on the character of Christ. It's when I'm weak that I finally realize that I can't do enough to please God, and I'm going to stop trying. Finally, His strength is able to work in us and begin to show forth the fruit of the Spirit. "I'm no longer doing things out of obligation.

The Golden Rule Lifestyle

  • Date: April 23, 2018
  • Verse: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
  • Summary:

It takes a regenerated person to habitually live the Golden Rule. Oh, we can pull it off periodically for someone that we love or in an extreme situation.

Forgive and Forget

  • Date: April 20, 2018
  • Verse: “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” (Psalm 51:17)
  • Summary:

Without us having that love one for another, we give advantage to the enemy; because a house divided against itself cannot stand. And in this last day, as we're warring and preparing ourselves for the coming of the Lord, the tactic of the enemy is always "divide and conquer." And through selfishness and pride and many of these different aspects that are evident in all of our members, though not to be preeminent, he can cause some kind of schism in our midst.

Living the Golden Rule

  • Date: April 9, 2018
  • Verse: “And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:31)
  • Summary:

Whenever we begin to devalue what used to be valuable to us, we've overvalued ourselves. In other words, whenever there's schism, whenever there's division, when somebody begins to reprove me in love, to touch the little idols in my life, and I, now, don't want to hang around them anymore. I'm not going to receive their love.

What does that say of who we see ourselves to be? Are we teachable? Are we humble? Are we allowing the body to perform its ministry to bring edification to every member? We've overvalued ourselves.

Love One Another

  • Date: April 4, 2018
  • Verse: “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (John 13:35)
  • Summary:

Where we're headed is for John 13. Let's look there real quickly. We've referred to this many times in the teaching already, in the last couple of sessions. We can all quote it John 13:35 "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, [How are they going to know?, when you] have love one to another." Love, strong affection. Not only an emotional soul-affection, but a spiritual union, a oneness. We are one body, of which Jesus is the head. We are members one of another.

First Bring the Name of Jesus

  • Date: April 2, 2018
  • Verse: “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (John 13:35)
  • Summary:

Much of the love of God has been perverted in this hour. It's gone over to what we call the "social gospel." Many churches today are caught up in, "What can we do to alleviate poverty?" Let me tell you something: Poverty will never be alleviated. Because Jesus said, "The poor, you shall always have with you" (Matthew 26:11). So, these people are trying to accomplish something that's impossible. And yet, the Scriptures tell us how to minister to the poor. He said, "All of our ministry to the needy must begin, first, in the household of faith.

Biblical Love Honors God

  • Date: March 30, 2018
  • Verse: “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works…” (Hebrews 10:24)
  • Summary:

We think that it'd be natural to be able to love one another. But in reality, we're so in love with ourselves that it's really an obstacle to being able to love as we've been loved. We'll never be able to love one another until we realize how in love with ourselves we are. Most of us are delusional in the way we perceive ourselves as people that are free from self-love. Our redemption, and we rest in the promise of God and all that our redemption has afforded us, but the reality is that in us, that is in our flesh, still dwells no good thing (Romans 7:18).

Love Will Do Whatever It Takes

  • Date: March 26, 2018
  • Verse: “And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?” (Matthew 7:3)
  • Summary:

We're talking about how we relate to one another, how we show love to one another, how our love is fervent and how it's without hypocrisy. He said, first of all, step back and answer this question: "And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye" (Matthew 7:3)? Stop with those words for a moment: "you consider not." How many of us quickly and so casually look at our lives? Oh, we examine everybody else, but we assume we're okay.

Love Fervently With a Pure Heart

  • Date: March 21, 2018
  • Verse: “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently…” (1 Peter 1:22)
  • Summary:

If you find yourself just going through the motions, then spend some time with Father and fall on your face. Let Him break your heart and realize you're not the priority in this place; the glory of God is! Begin to humble yourself and admit the hypocrisy. Ask Father to make you a servant of all, so men would see our good works and glorify our Father which is in heaven. Go to 1 Peter 1:22.

Love is Without Hypocrisy

  • Date: March 19, 2018
  • Verse: “Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.” (Romans 12:9)
  • Summary:

We are admonished to love one another. This is something we need to take to heart. Look over at Romans, Chapter 12, verse 9 for a moment. "Let your love be without dissimulation..." That's "without hypocrisy." Many of us try to have that feigned love. We know what the commandments are, and we try to walk through the actions of it.

Those Dead to Self Can Truly Love

  • Date: March 15, 2018
  • Verse: “…Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” (
  • Summary:

John, Chapter 15, verse 12 speaks to us very clearly. "This is my commandment…" We realize that this is not a suggestion. This is not something that would just benefit us if we took it to heart. "This is my commandment, That ye love one another…" To love requires the greatest degree of faith, and faith works by love. We see that without love it's impossible to please God. As He gives us this commandment and admonishes us to love as we've been loved, we begin to understand so many of His other admonitions.

Committed to the Glory of God

  • Date: March 13, 2018
  • Verse: “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.” (John 15:12)
  • Summary:

John's Gospel shows us the overwhelming love of God for us. Turn to John, Chapter 15, verse 12. "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you." We have talked about the definition of love. There are many sects that demonstrate a great love, one for another. The Mormons are a phenomenal group in the way that they unify themselves and in the way that they care for the community. It's far more than a lot of professed Christians, and it's a very impressive thing.

Love Never Fails

  • Date: March 9, 2018
  • Verse: “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.” (John 15:12)
  • Summary:

"That they all may be one; as Thou, Father, art in Me, [John 17:21] and I in Thee, that they also may be one in Us: that the world may believe that Thou hast sent Me." So, as we look at this call to unity, as we look at this call to be longsuffering with one another, as we look at this call to exhibit the love of God, we begin to fulfill the commandment that Jesus gave us in John 15, verse 12, "This is My commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

In One Accord

  • Date: March 7, 2018
  • Verse: “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.” (John 17:21)
  • Summary:

Just as the Scripture prophesies and talks about marriage and these two become one flesh, I want you to understand something: There is a spiritual marriage-Jesus is the Groom and we are the bride. When the world looks and says, "They all have a common faith, but it's not a dogma. They are all specifically indwelt by the Spirit of God, and claim Jesus not only to be their Lord, not only to be their God, but as their Husband!" Jesus then says, "I want you to know this: Father loves you just as much as He loves Me." That blows our minds.

Love is Seen in Unity

  • Date: March 5, 2018
  • Verse: “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.” (John 17:21)
  • Summary:

He says, "And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the [Word, through] truth" (John 17:19). There is a good word for those of us who are heads of homes. Men, you know those of you who sometimes get a little haughty in your role, proclaiming, "I'm the head of the house. I'm the priest of the home." Then let's follow the example of the Head of the church and sanctify ourselves.

Jesus is Praying for You

  • Date: March 2, 2018
  • Verse: “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” (Luke 22:31-32)
  • Summary:

He says in John 17, Verse 9, "I pray not for the world, but for them which Thou hast given Me; for they are Thine." I like that passage. I pray for the ones You have given Me. They belong to You, Father, and I am interceding that they would not be plucked from Our hands. "And all Mine are Thine, and Thine are Mine; and I am glorified in them. And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to Thee. Holy Father, keep through Thine own name those whom Thou hast given Me, that they may be one, as We are.

Whosoever May Come

  • Date: February 28, 2018
  • Verse: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
  • Summary:

In John 17 there are some great passages. As we have shared many times with you, and you very well know, this is the Lord's Prayer. What we call the "Lord's Prayer" is actually the model prayer for the Church (Matthew 6:9). Here in John 17 the Lord is praying for the church. Aren't you glad that the Scriptures say He ever lives to make intercession for us? Right this moment, the Lord Jesus is praying for you. Do you know what His prayer is? He is praying that you will finish this course. Thank God for that.

We Are Known by Our Love for One Another

  • Date: February 26, 2018
  • Verse: “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (John 13:35)
  • Summary:

We want to take a few services to talk about the love of God and the unity He has called us to. We know the tactics of Satan have not changed, "And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand" (Mark 3:25). "For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work" (James 3:16).

Faith Forebears

  • Date: February 23, 2018
  • Verse: “I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:1-3)
  • Summary:

We'll end with this study on faith that prevails with this. Turn to Ephesians with me for a moment. In Ephesians, Chapter 4, and Colossians 3, since you're real close there. These will be our last two verses. You said, "I thought you said Ephesians was the last verse." Be patient. Ephesians, Chapter 4, verse 1, "I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, [We'll develop this more in the next session.] With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering…." There are those virtues again.

Faith Ministers in Patience

  • Date: February 21, 2018
  • Verse: "But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses..." (2 Corinthians 6:4)
  • Summary:

Paul says, "…strength is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9). He goes on in verse 12 and makes a very interesting comment. He says, "Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you [how?] in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds."

I want to stop at this verse for just a moment. It's amazing to me how many people can talk about signs and wonders and mighty deeds and skip over the first thing that he says about these men of God.
