  • From Come Quickly

We believe in the imminent return of the Lord. There's nothing in prophecy left to be fulfilled before Jesus can come back. It's very clear in scripture that the apostle Paul believed that Jesus could return in his day. The Thessalonians believed it but were being told they missed it. So Paul was writing to them (2 Thessalonians 2) and saying, "No, you didn't miss it. The man of sin has to come. He that now letteth, [or restrains], will let until he be taken out of the way. Then shall the man of sin, the antichrist be introduced to set himself up as God to be worshipped in the temple". The Lord's return is imminent. Philippians 4:5 says, "Let your moderation [in this life] be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand." Are we living this natural life in ??extreme' moderation, in our expectation of His return? Is that your reputation? "All you ever talk about is Jesus and how He died for our sins and how He's coming back to receive us to Himself and how we're going to rule and reign with Him." "Yes. Come quickly, Lord Jesus." We're going to rule and reign with Him in the millennial reign. Eye has not seen what He has prepared for us. It hasn't even entered into our hearts to imagine the things that await us. But can I share one thing with you? His glory will outshine it all. In that time, you're going to have one desire: to make glad the heart of your Father as you worship Him and honor Him and adore Him. Come quickly Lord Jesus. We are right on the brink. In Hebrews 10:37, the Spirit of the Lord speaks to us and says, "For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry." It shall surely come. Second Peter 3:9 says, "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise." You can take it to the bank. His comment in 14:28 of John, "I go away, and come again," it's at hand. James 5:8 says, "Be ye also patient; [and stabilize] your hearts [in this hour of shaking]: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh." Get established in what you believe, what you know and where your hope is, for the coming of the Lord is drawing nigh. You see, the Bible says in the last days, that men are going to be double minded. They're going to be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine. That's why we've been asking, "What do you believe? What do you know to be the truth?" If in the last days the very elect wouldn't be able to stand if the days were not shortened, what are you standing on? What decisions have you made against the temporal to invest in the eternal, to take up that daily cross, the need to die to self will, to selfishness, to independence, to self indulgences because the cares of this world can come and choke the life of the Word of God out of us? None of us are immune to that. The day of the Lord is at hand. Are your hearts established? Is your belief system in place? You are known by your fruit. A redeemed individual, whose life is full of the Holy Spirit, will be controlled by a love and an expectation of the coming of the Lord Jesus. You will not be caught up in the cares of this world. You will not be overcome by all of the temporal pursuits. Jesus said, "I am not of this world. My kingdom is not of this world. If it was, we would fight with natural weapons." Look up and understand that that redemption is at hand; it's drawing nigh.
