- Scripture: “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” (Luke 22:31-32)

We know the doctrine. Then we look at Iran, we look at China, we look at all of these things lining up and we say, "Yeah, but we've seen these things line up before." Have any of you caught yourself saying that? "We've seen this before." How scriptural is that? "Where is the sign of His coming?" That very statement is the sign. Are we prepared? Any tent stakes that are a little deeper than normal? "Well, I'll just shake myself when it's time." Are you really ready, like Matthew, to just stand up and walk away from everything in a moment? What do you think? I never questioned my ability to do that until I had to do less than that and saw how difficult it was. What do you think? How do you see yourself? "Lord, though everybody forsakes you, you've still got Peter." "Satan hath desired…to sift you like wheat" (Luke 22:31) And I want to tell you, Satan desires to sift you and Jesus will grant him that right, but He's prayed for you. Isn't that the good part of that? "But I have prayed for thee…" (Luke 22:32). Not that you wouldn't be tried but that His strength would be perfected in your weakness, that you would be returned into that place of knowing what it means to absolutely love His presence and His redemption better than anything else in life.
The first moment that your sins were removed from you, you could've got up from that table and walked away and not given it another thought. Can anybody say amen to that? Do you remember that day? Do you remember that day when your sins were removed from you as far as the east is from the west? Do you remember that day when you finally were able, you looked into His face and He called you child, He called you son, He called you brother? You've all experienced it. You've had those testimonies. You all know what I'm talking about. How about today? How about the fact that He's not even asking you to walk away from everything, He's just wanting you to move away from those weights and sins. "You can keep all this but just move away from that." How hard is it to take that one step back into pure light? How hard is it to turn your children over into His hands instead of continuing to be their lord? How about just pushing them out from your own control and trusting the Holy Ghost? How difficult is that today? He's not asking you for everything-or is He? Yes, He is but He's revealing your heart in these small things.
"Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it." Stop all of your religious activities; stop thinking you're going to somehow appease God by a little more Bible study and a little more prayer and follow His call. "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I [only can] give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). If you're going to follow Me, I want you to deny yourself and take up your cross. Qualifying as one of those living stones-isn't it funny that you have to die to become a living stone? See, He can only build this temple with resurrected lives, living stones. "Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God… [Lives that are] not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind [the wisdom of God process], that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" (Romans 12:1-2). There's a tearing down. There's a death and then there's a raising up and there's a placing by the wisdom of God as it pleases Him. When this thing is done, it's going to please Him. One heart, one mind.
