The Humble Esteems Others Better Than Self

  • Date: June 28, 2010
  • Verse: "If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves." (Philipians 2:1-3)
  • Summary:

We're trying to identify with the heart of Jesus. Humility doesn't minimize who or what you are; it chooses to subordinate and offer back all that we are to the One that gave it to us, because without Him we are nothing. We can do nothing but become vessels that are used for His glory and His honor. The purpose of these teachings is to get us to become more effective in the unity that God has brought us to as we endeavor "...to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace" (Ephesians 4:3).
